I do not want to drink too much coffee, but when I did, I like rich, dark beer. You can not beat the French Press for the production of Robusta coffee - especially if you use freshly Ground Coffee. My recipe: Heat 16 oz of bottled water or filtered water in a microwave in a Pyrex measuring cup. Meanwhile, grind 1 / 3 cup of French roast coffee and put them to the point. When the water boils to break before the bubble stops completely. Then add a point to mix with a wooden spoon and let steep four minutes before the piston. Mmmmm! This item will also get 24 oz of water that you would use half cup of beans. Because the water is boiling coffee never disbanded, French roast coffee prepared in this way is very good, despite the use of dark roasted beans. (34-ounce description seems to me an error - my own 24 oz, and only three cups of coffee cups MY!)

Love it!
This coffee press is excellent! Coffee tastes always fresh & excellent. Dumping the ground, wet beans isn't the easiest or neatest thing to do after the pot is empty, but the inconvenience is nothing compared to a great cup of coffee!
Surpised how well it works
This is my first Coffee Press and I was fully exspecting to send it back, but to my surpise and delite I found this works as well as advertised, this makes the best coffee I've tasted, thank you Bodum....
10 years and still brewing
I've had this little french press for 10 years now (I had to think about that one a while!) Other than a slightly lopsided filter from an unlucky trip through the dishwasher, it's still good as new. Brews a smooth pot of coffee every time. Even when I am daydreaming and grind the beans too fine, it catches 99% of the grounds. No complaints on any of my Bodum Coffee- and tea-ware.
I lent it to a friend recently who wanted to test out french press coffee. She said it was "messy" and she couldn't get the hang of it?!?! I think maybe she was being too rough and hasty with the filter - It couldn't be easier - throw grounds in, add Hot Water, slosh it around a bit, put the lid on, wa

Bought this french press in preparation for a camping trip, as it turns out we now use it in the weekends too at home because the coffee comes out so good. I bought this one because it had a great price and because a coworker of mine has had it for years and it seems to have many years of life left. We're pretty happy with it.
Glad I Bought It
For the money, a French Press is a great way to go. This one has been flawless (I've had it a couple of months). More specific comments and recommendations:
I prefer buying ground coffee (coarse of course) rather than grinding it myself, because my Capresso burr grinder spits out a bit of dust which "muddies the water", so to speak, when using a french press.
The instructions say to take the plunger mechanism apart each time to clean, but I find it much easier to just loosen the parts by twisting the rod, and while loose you can run water through the pieces to clean them very effectively. This just takes a few seconds.
I wish there were an easier way to get the spent grounds out of the bottom, but this is the case with all french presses. I fill the press about 3/4 of the way with water and then cup my hand over the top and shake it, and dump the gunk in the back yard.
I considered a Technivorm Moccamaster Drip Coffee Maker (a friend has one and it produces the best tasting coffee I've ever had) but the $300 price was too steep for me. Some day, maybe. For now, this $20 Bodum is really slick.
