Do you hate cities that seem too young and trendy? You know, $4 coffees and such?
I prefer a gritty city like New York to these yuppie type places. I'm in Minneapolis now, but have felt this way about similar-sized cities.
Yes, I hate trendy cities. It's a case of been there, done that, didn't like it, and now happily avoid those places as much as possible. Truth is, I can't afford those places anymore so it's just as well I feel this way. I've never been to New York and though I wouldn't want to live there, would find it quite interesting to visit. To live, I think I'd prefer upstate New York as I love being around nature and hate being around too many people for extended periods. Hope you enjoy your stay in Minneapolis and find some good things there to offset the bad. Minnesota has always been a pretty decent state overall but yeah, I can understand what you're saying.
