When did U.S. food container sizes change?
If you ask people in the U.S. what a bag of coffee weighs, most will say a pound. And if you ask about icecream most will say a half gallon.
But most of them are wrong.
Icecream used to be sold in half gallons. Now, it's 1.5 quarts.
Prepack coffee (not instant) used to be sold by the pound. Now, it's 12 ounces.
But if you look at prices, the price per container is around the same.
Only the amount you get is only three-quarters of what you used to get
When did the container sizes change?
And how many other kinds of prepacked food are now sold in smaller sizes than they used to be?
They changed in the past few of years because of the economy.
