barristas help please!! coffee questions?
ok so for food technology class we have a worksheet to do, i googled it but i can't find many answers, can somebody please giv me a website or the answers to these questions. thanks 
1. list 7 different types of coffees that can be ordered in a coffee shop and give a full description of each.
Eg. Espresso - 7 grams of coffee, 30 - 50 mls of water, The base of all other coffees, served in an espresso cup (demi - tasse) should have a thick crema on top of concentrated coffee.
2. List and discuss the different milks that can be used in coffee shops.
Thats how it's written on the sheet, any hyelp appreciated
the milk is easy:
Non-Fat (skim) : milk to no milk-fat. good for the health-conscious.
2% : milk that has 2% milk-fat.
whole: milk that hasn't had any milk-fat removed
soy : soy milk (self explanatory, if you need further info, just google it)
Lactaid : milk that has no lactose in it.
Half-and-Half (breve, at SBUX) : two equal parts whole milk and cream.
I used to work at Starbucks; these were the milk options there. Soy, however, has to be steamed at a lower temperature, or it curdles.
as for the types of coffees, there's:
Mocha - espresso, steamed milk, chocolate sauce
Cappuccino - espresso and steamed milk. Differs from a latte because if steamed and poured properly, a cappuccino should be roughly half a cup of foam and half a cup of liquid.
Latte - espresso and steamed milk. Unlike a cappuccino, a latte is mostly liquid, and there's an inch or two of foam that's spooned onto the top of the beverage.
Espresso con Pana - espresso topped with whipped cream.
espresso- (use your example, if you're allowed). three parts, the crema on top, the heart just beneath the crema, and the body which is the bottom remaining espresso. it should have a sweet, caramelly flavor, and a shot has a ten second shelf life. must be mixed with milk or another base immediately or consumed immediately. If it sits too long it gets bitter. (believe me, there is def. a flavor difference. an old shot is gross.)
