what is the best way to clean galvanized steel chainmail if you do not have the money for Stainless Steel shot?

hello I make wire jewelry out of galvanized steel wire, and I just noticed that I have misplaced my stainless steel tumbling shot for cleaning it all before going to market.

You make mail out of galvanized steel??

How do you keep the galvanize from chipping off when you bend the jumprings?
How do you cut it? Do you have a website?

Normally would you polish this stuff with a tumbler?

I didn't know galvi polished.
If you're in a hurry, why don't you just blacken it chemically for now.

I would imagine, if you have a rotary tumbler, you could use any small steel parts like screws, nails, ball bearings, nuts, washers, whatever.
